Referee Payment Policy for Game Cancellation
at Patton Park-(beginning spring 2008)
These policies may vary slightly from other leagues or
parks. Check with them for their
policies.
While we are disappointed when game cancellations occur,
they DO occur. We try to accommodate as
many people as we can with respect to rescheduling, payments, etc, yet some
inconveniences and “perceived” unfairness are an unavoidable outcome.
Weather related cancellations- youth soccer at First Coast
- Games
cancelled due to poor field conditions or impending weather and you are
able to be notified prior to your arriving at the park, or a minimum of 60
minutes prior to the first game of the day, there is no pay for any
game. Please check the First Coast website at www.firstcoastsoccer.com or
call me on my cell at 238-6191or call the Patton park office at 223-3606
if you feel that games may be cancelled.
Patton Park will have considered to “notify” you if their website
or their phone message stating that fields are closed was updated 60 minutes
prior to your game, or if you were called 60 minutes prior to game
time. Also, if I don’t pick up my
cell phone, please listen to the greeting to see if my greeting indicates
field closures.
- Weather
related cancellations where you arrived at the park and you were not
notified, or not notified in time, you are paid for that first game
only. (This is why I require an
emergency/cell number for everyone).
If you are called at the number I have, and your number has changed
or I only have one number, it will have been considered that you were
called. It is YOUR responsibility
to make sure I have a current contact # where you
can be reached AT ALL TIMES.
- Games
started that can’t be completed will be paid for in full for that
game. If you’re scheduled for a
game immediately after that cancelled game and it’s cancelled too, (and
you waited the 30 minutes postponement time from the first game) you will
be paid for that one also. No
further games will be paid for.
- If a
game is suspended due to weather and then restarted, and then you couldn’t
do a game you were supposed to work after that because you have to leave
since all the games are now running late, you will not be paid for the
game you can no longer do.
- If
your next game is a “break”, there is no pay for games you may be
scheduled for later in the day.
Weather related (Adult leagues)
- Games
which are cancelled for weather or field related issues (ie, water logged from previous day’s rain) prior to
7am on game day, there will be no pay.
You must check www.jaxsoccer.com
to see if the fields are open. In
addition, please contact my cell and listen for the greeting.
- For
any game cancelled prior to starting due to weather for which you have
arrived, pay is $20….for everyone.
- For first
games started and then cancelled, you will be paid for that game.
- If you
did the first game and waited for the second game which never could start,
you would get paid your first game and then $20 for waiting. If you leave, no second game pay.
Non-weather related
- Games
cancelled within 24 hours of game time for any reason other than weather,
will be paid for, unless you are rescheduled to another game at that time
slot.
- You may
be notified either by email or by phone that a game has been cancelled for which you were scheduled. More than 24 hour noticed
games will not be paid for.
- You
may also be notified near game time for some cancellations, depending on
the situation. These obviously will
be paid for, unless you are moved to another game. If that game to which you are moved is
paid less than your cancelled game, you will receive the higher fee.
