Hello everyone and thanks for your patience while I finish getting everything together for this weekend's tournament.

IF YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS, YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE AVAILABLE TO WORK. I NEED A CONFIRMATION FROM YOU NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY AT 9 pm. AFTER THAT I WILL BEGIN TO FIND REPLACEMENTS FOR THOSE GAMES.  YOUR CONFIRMATION OF GAMES PRESUMES YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES OF PLAY AND ALL OTHER IMPORTANT ITEMS RELATED TO THIS TOURNAMENT AS THEY APPEAR ON THIS WEBSITE OR IN THIS EMAIL.

If you are not sure that I have your cell number, please email it to me with your confirmation of games.  I may have to contact you to tell you to arrive an hour later or that your venue has changed and I will NEED your cell number.

Everything can be found at www.law18.net on the assignment page.  It will be updated as often as necessary but YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY OTHER EMAILS UNLESS WE NEED TO DISCUSS SOMETHING SPECIFIC.  IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK BACK TO MAKE SURE ALL IS OK FOR YOU!!!!!

The specific assignment link is:  www.law18.net/11v11assignments2009.htm  If you can download the excel version, it is www.law18.net/11v11assignments2009.xls  It will allow you to type your name in cell F1 and it will highlight your name. Most names require only your last name.  Some require a first initial also.

I expect multiple changes that may or may not affect all of you as the result of turnbacks and what not.  For the most part, you'll not be affected, but you'd be surpised how many changes we DO have.  Those of you were not assigned or underassigned will likely get some assignments as the changes occur.  Please be patient, but feel free to reply that you are still available and expecting to get some assignments.  I will do my best.

In any event, check your schedule at least a couple times, and at least before you leave on Friday.

As usual this tournament will be exhausting, but it will also be a lot of fun. We are EXTREMELY fortunate to have our area director of academy, at least 5 national referees, current national candidates, AND our most recently appointed FIFA A/R available for feedback and questions.

The official rules can also be found here: http://11v11soccer.com/images/tournament%20rules.pdf as well as on the assignment page of www.law18.net

·         READ THE RULES.

·         Weather should be in the low 70's during the day and in the low 50's in the morning. Make sure you bring plenty of sun screen.

·         THERE WILL BE NO MEETING ON FRIDAY NIGHT.

·         Officials will be provided food and drink. Both Davis and Patton will have Gatorade, water and soft drinks in the officials’ area.  You may get hamburgers, hot dogs and other “food” items from the concession stands.  If you want candy, ice cream or other drinks besides those provided, you are on your own.

·         Player passes from players receiving a red card should accompany the game card when returned to the tent.  A determination will made to the suspension times and the referee crew for that next game will be advised.

·         Grant Merrill will site direct at Davis and his phone number is 537-1021

·         Parking may be difficult at times at both locations. I advise you to arrive at the fields at least 45 minutes prior to your first game, especially if
you are unfamiliar with the area. "In the parking lot" is does not mean you're there and ready to go.

·         KEEP THE GAMES ON TIME.

·         I expect everyone to have their full complement of uniforms, long and short sleeves and all the other equipment necessary to present ourselves as the
competent and professional officials I know we are. If you are having problems getting to the field for whatever reason, my cell number is
904-238-6191.

·         I expect everyone to be mentally prepared for some highly competitive games, and to do our best to work through the likely exhaustion we will
face with 3 or more games each day. If anyone becomes injured, please let me know asap so I can make schedule adjustments.

·         We are responsible for the game balls. Make sure you return the ones that you take to the fields, please.

·         INCORRECT SCORES are the single BIGGEST source of FRUSTRATION at ANY tournament. You are not done with the game until the correct score has been properly turned in to me or the Davis site director. It is embarrassing to have to deal with coaches and the tournament director to explain why we
can't get the score right. PLEASE get the score right and DO NOT invert them on the score card.
